Thomas Le Beux est doctorant à l’Institut Foton et à l’ONERA. Son article intitulé « Coherent beam combining of wavelength-division multiplexed telecom signals: toward high-power and high-bit-rate free-space optical telecommunications », paru en février 2025 dans la revue Optics Express, a été sélectionné en tant qu’Editor’s Pick.

Dans cet article, Thomas Le Beux démontre qu’il est possible de faire la combinaison cohérente de 8 faisceaux portant un signal télécom constitué de 4 canaux multiplexés en longueur d’onde à 10 Gbit/s. Cette étude ouvre une voie prometteuse pour de futures liaisons optiques en espace libre pour les télécommunications spatiales.
